How to clean a whiteboard eraser?

Office Whiteboard dusters that get a lot of use soon become clogged with dried marker ink.
Dry erase erasers lose their effectiveness when they become saturated with ink. While they are often changed, they may be cleaned to extend their life. Fortunately, there are several techniques for cleaning them out and getting them to work like new again.
Best of all, you can accomplish this using stuff you use at home. Erasers may be washed with liquid detergent, sprayed with a water hose, or scrubbed with toothpaste. Whatever method (or ways) you use, your dry erase erasers will be back in action shortly.
First Method: Washing It With Dish Soap
To begin, fill a pan halfway with soapy water. 1 tablespoon or 14.7 mL of dish soap in a small pan with 1 quart or 946 mL of boiling water Please keep in mind that the ink from the erasers may discolour the pan.
Soak the erasers next. Place the erasers in a pan of boiling water and soak for at least 20 minutes. Then, wash them beneath running water until all of the ink has been cleared and the water is clean.
After that, all that remains is to place the erasers in the sunlight. The dry erasers must be entirely dry in order for you to handle them. After washing, the easiest approach to dry them is to place them in full sunshine for 1 to 2 hours.
Second Method: Using A Garden Hose
Before you begin, choose a location where you will be able to make a mess. When you wash your dry erase erasers with a garden hose, you will wind up splashing inky-coloured water on the ground. So, first, locate a spot for your cleaning, ideally on a piece of grass.
Take your dry erase erasers outdoors, place them on the ground, then blast them with your hose. If your hose has numerous settings, choose the most aggressive one. The strength of the hose spray will reach the cracks of the eraser and eliminate the ink. Keep going until the water is clear.

Third Method: Scrubbing With Toothpaste
A mild, yet somewhat abrasive cleaner, such as toothpaste, is ideal for cleaning dry erase erasers. Apply a little line of toothpaste to the bottom of each eraser to be cleaned.
Clean the whiteboard eraser in a circular motion with a damp washcloth. Spread the toothpaste evenly around the eraser. Keep in mind that the ink may most likely taint the washcloth you're using.
Rinse them under running water and air dry them. Put each eraser under warm running water until all ink and toothpaste have been gone and the water has run clean. Then, let the erasers outside in direct sunshine for 1 to 2 hours to dry.
Additional Tips And Advice
If you really need to wipe your dry erase board before your erasers have dried, you can use a paper towel sprinkled with glass cleaner, a dry washcloth, or an old t-shirt or sock. If you really need to clean your dry erase board, use rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. If you live in a chilly region (or it's a gloomy day), place your erasers near a heat vent to dry.
Avoid using strong chemicals or hot water on the felt section of the eraser. Only clean the eraser when absolutely required. Most erasers aren't meant for deep cleaning and may need to be changed after a few cleanings.
