How to time your Office Fitout to your benefit

In the chaos of planning a new office space or an upgrade of a current workspace, often organising an Office Fitout and buying furniture is left to the last minute, which can be a real setback to your business. Different products have various manufacturing and logistics periods, and so the earlier you organise your office furniture, the better.

Manufacturing periods depend on whether the furniture pieces you order are standard items or custom made. The logistics and delivery timeframe depends on the size and fragility of the products, as often specialist couriers must be used to transport delicate items. Custom laminate tops for desk and boardrooms generally take 2-3 weeks to be bought from suppliers and then manufactured. They take up to an extra week to be delivered as they need a specialist courier for delivery. Custom partition screens takes approximately 2-3 days for suppliers to prepare and deliver the specialised fabrics.

It then takes up to 3 days to get the fabric bonded to the screen and another 2 weeks to get the divider professionally manufactured. As it is a specialty product, the divider screen will take approximately a week to be picked and delivered to your site. Custom Chairs can be built fairly quickly. Similar to the partition screens, it takes 2-3 days for local suppliers to deliver chair fabrics. However, it only takes up to 5 days to manufacture a custom chair. Allow up to one week for delivery to east coast destinations. Custom lounges and soft furnishings have a 2 week manufacturing period. They then take another week to get delivered to your site using specialty couriers. Ready-made items that are in stock at the warehouse take up to 48 hours to be picked and another 5 days to be delivered. This time may be increased for items that need special delivery services.
